Love is the Weapon

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

Namaste,

Love is the weapon that cuts through the heart’s knots.
Love shifts the vision from daydreaming to an integral experience from the body to the Atman, from untruth to truth.
The threshold of love is the sacrifice of what we call the self.

The Soul is the ocean of freedom and independence.
There is no power greater than non-violence to overcome violence.
Truth is the greatest weapon on Earth.
The soul is the joy of all actions.
It is the ocean of freedom and independence.

Let all seekers intensify their efforts for training in self-realization.
It is a constant battle to reject illusion.

Kali Natha Tantric Yoga teaches one to find independence; and with independence, one is free.
You are bound to be victorious.
Non-violence overcomes violence.
Serenity is the absence of subtle desires, due to the increase of purity.
One must live to die to the illusions of life.
One learns to find happiness within.
It is experienced and enjoyed.
Wisdom destroys miseries of all kinds.

The practice of meditation and yoga helps one to break the veils of illusion.
So much can be accomplished with a full heart and a non-complaining mind.

I love you all.

Love,
Ma Jaya

Autumn Meditation

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

Namaste,

As you do your meditations, know that you can do any season meditation at any time you wish.
At times, the season meditation can bring you more in to the moment.
It is up to you.

Close your eyes gently, upper lid gently touching the lower lid, upper lip slightly touching the lower lip.
Let out a big sigh, and feel yourself letting go of stress and tension.
Breathe in to the heart chakra in the center of your chest; you are breathing in a warm, golden light.

Let go of any negative thoughts on the out-breath.
Let them go.
Take a deep breath into your chest – a breath of golden light.
It feels wonderful.

Breathe out, and say to yourself, “I am breathing out all stress.”
Label the stress if you so desire.
In other words, “I am breathing out negativity.”

Breathe in the deepest breath you have ever breathed.
Feel the heart filled with a golden light.
Notice how good you are starting to feel.

Breathe out very slowly.
As you do so, let everything go.
Let go of troubles, let go of trivia.
Just let them go; you do not need them.
They are not you.

Feel your chakras getting rid of them; forget them – you do not need them at this time or any other time.
This is your moment: if you feel it difficult to let go, then breathe in and out of your heart chakra a few times until you feel calm and light.

Breathe in the golden autumn light into your belly; feel the tension leave your belly.
Feel your body gently relaxing, be at peace, enjoy it.
Relax and breathe out.

Practice all the above a few times.
Now breathe in over your head.

Imagine sitting with your Beloved.
Breathing out, you are fully relaxed.
Your Beloved reaches over and puts His or Her hand on your chest.
You can feel the warmth of your Ma’s hand.
Breathe in and out.

You are immersed in the golden light; it is all around you.
You are in the center of the tantric sun.
Breathe in to your heart, imagining the golden light filling your heart and entering through your chest wall.
Feel the warmth the golden light brings you.
Feel love, peace and calmness; your body is gently relaxing.

Imagine a spiral of golden light coming from the Earth, encircling you 11 times going clockwise.
This light is going upward.
When it reaches over your head, picture it encircling downward going counter-clockwise.

When it reaches beneath you, see yourself sitting on a golden bench.
Sit like this for however long you feel to, breathing in and out softly and beautifully

The tension is gone.
Peace remains.
You are the golden light.
You are the golden, tantric bench you sit upon.
All is good.
All is love.

Breathe in and out five times.
Stand up slowly, and resume what you were doing with great awareness.
You have become part of the golden light.

I love you with all my heart.

Love,
Ma Jaya

The Miracle of By The River

Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009

Namaste,

It is amazing what has occurred since last year’s Laxmi Puja.
Be grateful for all you have received.

By the River is a miracle in itself.
In the buildings and rooms waiting for the occupants is a wonderful feeling of acceptance.
So many elders will be taken care of.
Remember, there are no throwaway people.
Our lives are filled with the joy of serving others and right here on our sacred Ashram.
The sick and the old search the edges of life for any sign of help.
Here at Kashi those who are in need of housing, food and all those things that seniors need to have will be given gladly.
This has been planned for more than thirty years.

We have a deep loyalty to those who are in need.
The magic of it all is emerging in the buildings that are filled with all the possibilities that the elderly thought they could never could have any more.
This is the magic of love and caring.
It is the universal joy of Mother Laxmi to bring happiness prosperity and health to everyone.
Here on Kashi the imagination has given away to truth.
People will find a place to lay their heads without fear.
Folks will have enough to eat.
And our children will learn so much from our seniors.

It is this time of the year that one can feel the closeness of the Mother.
Let Mother Laxmi’s Pujas be a reflection of all of our love and our lives.
All that is needed exists in the heart and mind of Mother Laxmi, and She is willing to give us all that we need.
Our dream for so many is coming true.
The secret pulse of goodness can be felt this very moment.
The Divine breath of the Mother can be felt as well.
Neem Karoli Baba has given us the Blue Print of serving others, and being faithful to our dreams of serving others is a dream coming true.
Dance with the Self, and serve from your heart.

I love you with all my heart.

Love,
Ma Jaya

Kali Pujas at Kashi

Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009

Namaste,

Thursday night as everyone was throwing the rice in the Dhuni I could feel the Black Mother absorb what my students did not need in Her marvelous Fire of Freedom.

Friday night was the second night of Kali Puja.

My heart beats with anticipation for each puja.

The drumming, the night sounds, Lord Shiva must truly love us to make such magnificent sounds.

I can only say the pujas are unbearable joy. No language is enough to express the depth of each and every word uttered during the pujas to the Black Mother.

Get ready my students to throw the rice into the waiting fires of the Goddess.

For it is She who watches over you all.

What Grace, what joy, what a stunning place to live and to grow.

Thirty three years have danced by, and all the Gods and Goddesses  noticed and sent along their blessings as well.

I love you all,

Ma Jaya

Namaste,

Friday night was Kali Mother’s Puja Night and it was also Rosh Hashanah, Jewish New Years.
My Raja Ma Jaya did the Jewish prayer for the New Year.

It was quite a beautiful moment.

My Raja Ma brought tears to so many eyes.

Happy New Year, may all good and fine happenings find their way to your hearts.

The Desire to be Right

Saturday, September 19th, 2009

Namaste,

The love that flows between you and your Beloved is beyond anything anyone can write about.

This love is an intelligence that does not demand clarity.

It always was and always will be.

It is the Teacher that unfolds a dialogue that brings love to learning.

The heart splits through the ego mind and frees the Soul when love is given unconditionally.

When you can understand that you are part of such a great love, then your reactions to life are softened.

Love meets all needs.

Grace is not an experience of life.

It is a state of being that you bring about yourself as you are being loved unconditionally.

There is so much loneliness, sickness and insecurity in the world that one must never add on to it.

Never hurt anyone.

You cannot find happiness when so many are hurt by your actions.

Your love for humanity needs no defense, only joy.

The Karmic Space of the Desire to Be Right is sometimes based on your wanting to win a point.

Your life becomes intense, and soon you do not even remember what it is that you wanted to be right about.

All the Karmic Spaces are based on concepts of the ego mind and are threatened by self- questions.

When you come to a crisis, you begin to look for a easy way out; saying that you are right seems to ease the ego mind.

Yet when you understand and that you are loved, very much loved, you bring a higher intelligence to your day-to-day energy.

In the absence of this Karmic Space, the Desire to Be Right, you do not get caught in your ego’s interpretations

The Karmic Spaces breed desires and problems that only the heart can heal.

When awareness comes from self-inspection, one can exit the Karmic Spaces.

Free from the ego noises of the world, one can begin to truly live.

One can only find raging storms in the Karmic Space of the Desire to Be Right.

Setting forth to serve humanity has one listening to others, thus having no Desire to Be Right.

Love to serve, and watch your heart opening.

When you serve, there is an ocean of the sweetest feelings that come into your heart.

They sweep over your soul.

I love you all so very much.

Love,

Ma Jaya

Overcome Jealousy

Wednesday, September 16th, 2009

Namaste,

On this path of service, one should develop a spirit of non-judgment.
One then can learn to serve humanity with an open heart and a non-judging mind.

You develop a spirit of charity to overcome jealousy.
When you see a person more prosperous than you, feel delighted as if she or he were your own self.
By being joyous for others, wealth will soon find you.
When you hear of great achievements of others, do not allow a burning, jealous feeling to enter into your heart.
Become aware of the fact that you are able to do what others have done.
The possibilities of prosperity are so great.
Inner possibilities become easy to obtain.

Mother Laxmi’s day becomes a special day in your lives and sets the tone for the rest of the year.
So many miracles have happened over the years after Laxmi Puja.
It is a time of grace, prosperity and good health.

The time of Durga Puja is a profound celebration here on Kashi Ashram.
Many come from all over to be with the Mother at this time.
I welcome you all with open arms and an open heart.

I love you all so very much.

Love,
Ma Jaya

Run to your Beloved

Tuesday, September 15th, 2009

Namaste,

There is no place as rich as the presence of your Beloved.
My Baba taught me this many years ago.
To run to the Beloved at times of stress helps one to consume all of life.
It is the Beloved who tears the veil from the inner eye.
It is the ego that keeps one in a frozen state that lacks any form of gratitude.
Life comes and life goes; it is the Beloved that never leaves.
The ego finds the gates of the mind and opens them easily.
The ego sneaks into the thoughts, and one thinks that these thoughts are the right thoughts.

Yet the heart feels heavy as one longs for the touch of the Beloved’s hand.
From the outer world the ego slips into the inner shrine; the ego floats in and attacks thoughts.
I have seen this happen so many times.
The inside scars that the ego leaves keeps one in clouds of illusion.
One seems to bend to his or her own will, yet it is the will of the ego.

Devotion keeps the heart open wide, joyful and full.
Thoughts pass as clouds in the sky.
The ego’s thoughts that rage against all that is good subside as one meditates on the Beloved.
The ego’s thoughts of selfishness are drowned in the enfolding waves of intuition brought about by the love of the Beloved.
And our hearts are lit by love.

I love you all.

Love,
Ma Jaya

Neem Karoli Baba’s Mahasamadhi

Monday, September 14th, 2009

Namaste,

Saturday night’s darshan and celebration of Neem Karoli Baba’s life and death touched us all deeply as we sat together at the dhuni.
I knew my heart was practically beating outside my body, and everyone could see and feel the love flowing.
They came from all over the country and world.
We sat as one.
We were one.
Our Baba led your Ma all through the night.
I asked my Baba as we walked around the Ganga to the waiting arms of my chelas, “How can there be so much love in the universe?”
I walked toward them with a fresh step and an open heart.
The tears of happiness, spiritual pride, and joy began to flow.

My Baba’s Mahasamadhi was more of life then of death.
It was cow dust time, the crack between day and night.
It seems that the sun did shine in a special way over Kashi.
Whom would the flower turn to, if not to the sun waiting to shed its light upon it?
If the earth did not did not spin, to whom would the light return, time after time?

We love our Beloveds in all of our different ways.
They truly know of our love.
Simply put, I am so happy here with my students, watching those who are in need being taken care of by the young and the old, generation after generation.

It is our Baba who guides our minds against temptations of greed, anger, hatred, power, fame and judgment of others.
There is no measurement great enough to measure.
It is said that sight claims the things that one can see.
My Beloved says, “Not true.”
It is emotions of the heart, the true love of the Soul, that claims our Baba as our own and as the world’s.
Our year begins with such joy and bliss.
Feel it.
Taste it.
Become it.

I love you all.

Love,

It is just a Thought

Wednesday, September 9th, 2009

Namaste,

The force of the wanting mind, (the ego mind), tries to take our moment of bliss and have it disappear as if it was never there at all.
Look inside of you and try to make yourself peaceful by ignoring the mind and paying attention to the breath.

Notice when you feel the moods of restlessness.
This is like a moment when you can soften your breath.
Do not try too hard.
Let the easiness come to you.
Notice the sounds of the present moment.
As you feel the natural rhythm of the presence, acknowledge the feeling and bring it to a moment to change if need be.
Notice when thoughts arise.
Say to yourself, “It is just a thought.”

When the waves of the moment become quite strong, notice the feeling of strength.
Ask yourself, “Can I use this feeling?”
Acknowledge it and bow to it.
Be aware of it.
Acknowledge the feelings in the body.
Gently name them.
Meet the thoughts with awareness.
After the thoughts dissolve, come back to the breath.
Perhaps this all happened in a few minutes.
Perhaps longer.
When you do this and make a habit of it, the moment brings you a new kind of peace.

Sometimes people say that they are lost in thoughts so much of the time.
Notice the thoughts, and then return to the breath.
Be very simple.
You can name the moment anything you want to.
Do not be afraid of everything you think of.
If you label them, you can begin to soften them.
Watch this very moment.
Can you find some compassion or love in your thoughts?

Now you are opening to the music of life.
You can use the awareness to meet the moment.
Or just let it pass by saying, “It is just a thought.”
Now this is awareness, and awareness is the open gate to all whom you love and all who love you.

Cultivate the quality of compassion, love, and the thought of happiness.
Thoughts can be a learning experience.
Just like love.
Notice where you are this moment.
It is a different moment than before.
Now you are learning the art of spiritual life.
It is all about loving awareness.
Just notice, be aware, and know that your Beloved loves you.
Notice this every moment of every day.

I love you all.

Love,
Ma Jaya
